Embodied Mind, Communication, Relationship in Chronic/Complex Health Conditions May 22, 2010

Daniel Lappin Presentor: Learn and practice skills for your personal wellness practice and to support communication and somatic skills in the therapeutic relationship of patient care. All major Integrative Health traditions identify some concept of 'Mind' as the first factor in health. As well, the Institute of Medicine estimates that 60% of total health costs are based on behavior. Furthermore, 20-50% of drug effect is placebo. This workshop will cover evidence based, Integrative and Frontier principles of the anatomy and physiology of Mind, somatic embodiment, communication and relationship. Other topics include: childhood trauma and long term health consequences, the effect of stress upon communication physiology, and the skin-touch-pineal stress response mechanism. This will be an experiential, hands-on, group participation workshop. Prepare to move, engage and have fun!
