Eloquent Vistas: the Art of Nineteenth-Century American Landscape July 25, 2008

A landscape has been described as "a mindful creation that frames a view of the world". The 78 images in this exhibition include daguerreotypes of Niagra Falls, photographs of Civil War Battlefields, and spectacular views of expanding railroad lines and the vast American West.
