Audio Ashram presents Electrofunk - An evening of Massive Electronics and Big Bass with Kalyug, Buffa Pirate & S.O.N.R. Kalyug is Nikhel Kumar Mahajan's Progressive avatar. Nikhel draws inspiration from ancient Indian Hindu mythology and has deep rooted spiritual beliefs. According to Hindu mythology, Kalyug is the fourth and final era in the spiritual evolution of man. The four ages of the world are: The Krita Yug - 4800 years : The Treta Yug 3600 years : The Dwapara Yug 2400 years and KALYUG 1200 years. Kalyug has written, composed and produced the first Indian Progressive dance album Digital Chamatkar in spring, 2007. Kalyug has performed at numerous Indian and International venues including Glade festival ( UK ), Sonica ( Italy ), Freedom Festival ( Portugal ) to name a few. Buffa Pirate: On a sole voyage to RIP floors apart, Buffa the soundfarin Pirate plunders an edgy, cut up, and fidgety take on Grinding Techno, Jackin Electro, Ghetto Disco, Acid House & Broken Breaks, with a sound that wobbles somewhere between the Underground and the Pop Aye!. Heavy duty bassline drills teamed with Slamming & Dirty but yet Funky & Groovy beats always keeping the dance floor on its toes with tonal surprises lurking at every junction. Ye ready to be ambushed? Arrrr! Buffa Pirate is a fresh concept by blueOrb to promote a bass heavy take on breaks & electro! S.O.N.R. : S.O.N.Rs DJ sets are a rich in atmospheres, thumping bass lines, transcending leads and are very dance floor oriented. Each track represents a chapter in a story culminating into a high energy, elated flight through sound. S.O.N.R. strings together a number of diverse styles of Electronica with a signature mixing technique. S.O.N.R. is versatile enough to tailor a set around an event, a theme and even around a venue. A typical S.O.N.R. set begins at a slow pace from relaxing ambient sound-scapes, moves through bouncy Progressive rhythms to heavy bass-line driven Trance and finally progresses into a finger licking series of dance-floor bombs packed with energy.
