Quip is the alias of Ben Eyes from Leeds.
Born and raised in the fag end of the North of England that is Lancaster
the
young Ben cut his musical teeth playing in the audacious punk combo Ice
Log O.D. After taking his time to perfect the trashing of other peoples
equipment Ben then left the fag end of the north to go to the ashtray
that is Bradford. Here he studied drugs and music and learnt how to use
a sampler and a computer.
Ben has concentrated on producing live music that aims to make your feet
move and also give you something to think about other than "did i cancel
that direct debit?" The influences are long and tedious but think of
melodic electronics, with guitars, vocals and dark moody beats. He
describes his sound as phasic (if you don't know google); like boards of
canada, plaid, aphex twin, fourtet, brian eno.

C.J.´s idea for the sexxxtet started with his love for the cello.
They're not just beautiful, they're the sexiest thing around. But then,
he was never been able to distinguish between sexual and musical
excitement. Not sure the
distinction is even a valid one. So when Sarah (his girlfriend) and he
started dating, and he found out she played the cello, the long-time
desire to write for cello was given an immediate possibility of
gratification.
