ARTIST INFORMATION
CRUNC TESLA (TIGERBEAT6)
http://myspace.com/crunctesla
Grandson of an African American Baptist preacher born in Jim Crow Mississippi, Dj Raedawn got ?the Callin?? to rip stages since the age of 4. Besides being a seasoned DMC vet and mixtape maestro to many, he developed the Turntablist Transcription Methodology with his chums Ethan Imboden and Battlesounds' creator John Carluccio. This unique notation system for electronic/dj music has been developed into software, used in music courses around the world and has been featured by the likes of Time, CNN, Blackbook, XLR8R...yatayatayata. At Skratchcon 2000, Q-bert knighted him with the Dj Q-bert SkratchMaster Award from the Global Skratch foundation. Far from a scratch nerd, Raedawn?s assaulted stages and dancefloors from the legendary Apollo Theatre to the most dank techno til? 10 in the morn? coke den party in Berlin. Under the name Crunc Tesla , he has collaborated with artists such as Tes ,dDamage ,Airborn Audio and Angelbert Metoyer . Having opened for a wide spectrum of artists, from Stereolab to Dizzee Rascal to the mythical Red Alert, Raedawn's performances have defied genre and moved generations of audiences. The 26 year old ATLien has been hiding out in Brooklyn for the past five years. Crunc Tesla's full length LP, "What's Really Rad?" drops this fall on Tigerbeat6.

KUDU (NUBLU RECORDS)
http://www.kudu2u.com/
http://myspace.com/KUDU
Kudu, the brand new dynamic duo of Deantoni Parks and Sylvia Gordon, connects rawness with realness. A real DIY group, writing and producing everything themselves, their sound can be summed up as Urban New Wave or even more simply Nu-Pop. Aside from the fresh musical ingredients?without one sour spot concerning image, talent, concept, lyric, or songwriting?it's about their energy and the excitement of being a part of something familiar but altogether new.  Kudu appeals across the board beyond race, class, nationality, and age. They have packed out all-black Atlanta audiences to all-white audiences in Boston. The formula for Kudu is take what's hot, push it forward, and retain all the dark, beautiful, artistic simplicity.
Going to a Kudu show is like falling in love for the first time?something wild, new, and exciting that will stick in your mind and move your ass. Kudu are performing on a regular basis at Nublu, downtown NYC.

SAN SERAC (FROGMAN JAKE)
http://frogmanjake.com/sanserac
http://myspace.com/sanserac
San Serac has delighted and alarmed people all over the fucking place with his perverse Bryan Ferry meets electro/disco/soul. Abrasive house? His self-released album "Ice Age" garnered rave and weird reviews, and he's since been attacking dancefloors on the east & west coasts with the likes of Gravy Train!!!!, DAT Politics, Chromatics, Ratatat, ova looven, and some really bug Anticon cats [to name a few]. He has a track on the new Believer music issue CD, and he's cooking up a tasty new batch of songs recorded with sound engineer Stephen Wright (Wire, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, everybody). San Serac recently moved to New York City.

DANIEL GIVENS (AESTHETICS)
http://aesthetics-usa.com/artists/danielgivens/bio.html
On Dayclear & First Dark /Aesthetics, 2004:
"MC-DJ-poet Daniel Givens brings a unique personal history to Dayclear & First Dark , his first full-length since Age five years ago. Not only does the sophomore effort embody his experiences as a gay black man inhabiting New York's concrete jungle in the post-9/11 era, it's also about coming to terms with a childhood friend killed by Jeffery Dahmer.
Abetted by Semay Wu's cello, Matana Roberts' sax, and hallucinatory vocal flavourings from Ihu Anyanwu, Lehni Lamide, and Monstah Blak, Givens drapes his gravelly voice over hypnotic voodoo grooves borne from digital textures, samples, and drum machines. While the album's apocalyptic ambiance suggests the unyielding presence of imminent threat, Givens preaches action, not resignation ("You've got to fetch the future"). Think of Dayclear & First Dark as the dark and spacey spawn of Tricky, Sun Ra, Kraftwerk, Gil Scott-Heron, and Agharta -era Miles." - JUNK MEDIA

G.RIZO (CODEK/REPELLENT)
http://myspace.com/gdotrizo
http://www.grizo.com
Ihu Anyanwu a.k.a G.rizo is a self-proclaimed "technotainer" and "l'ektronikaraoke" crooner. Interpreting dance music with a freestyle, pop-tastic flair, ranging in style from electro, disco, techno, dub and RnB, one thing?s for sure: its bound to be funky!! Sonically, she first appeared on the scene with the release of "Je Me Mentis," in 2002, a toxic-dub 12 inch produced by Sasa Crnobrnja and Alex Gloor, released on their label Codek Records. As a singer her sound is a fusion of styles, one which has been described by XLR8R Magazine as "a cross pollination of dirty booty bass, dubby No Wave, (and electric RnB) sung with sexy, irreverent lyrics." Live, she's a one woman kamikaze - a commanding presence, G.rizo brings a delivery that is raw, bold and soulful. Recently G.rizo has collaborated with Gerhard Potuznik (G.D.Luxxe), Patrick Pulsinger, Trio Exklusiv, I-Wolf & Birdy, Dubblestandart, Daniel Givens and In Flagranti. Currently G.rizo works on material for an upcoming full length record.

BAUMANN

Hannes Baumeister (a.k.a Baumann) along with Tanya Bednar, runs a great and famous party called Icke Micke, which is basically the must party at/must get booked at stop in Vienna at the moment. Along with his contemporaries like Patrick Pulsinger, Electric Indigo, Erdem Tunakan, Gollini, and his partner Tibcurl, Baumann with his quirky and unrestrained spinning style, is yet another reason why Vienna, though still under the radar, is a very special place for electronic music connoisseurs.
