FREE Defensive Driving Class for the public
The El Paso Police Department's Safe Communities Program is hosting a FREE Defensive Driving class for the public. This is part of the many educational efforts the EPPD Safe Communities Program conducts in an effort to make our community safer and reduce the number of traffic collisions and related injuries and deaths. Instructors certified in defensive driving will teach the class. The class is free of charge and cannot be used for ticket dismissal. However, the class can be used for insurance discounts. Those wanting a certificate for insurance discounts will have to pay $5.00 dollars for the certificate. To take part in the class you must register by calling 564-7352. Only those that register by Friday, May 5th 2006 will be able to attend the May 6th 2006 class. Class participation is limited to 40 participants.

Lions, and tigers and giraffes oh my!
Your El Paso Zoo will soon experience a major makeover thanks to the City of El Paso 2000 Quality of Life Bond initiative. Four major projects scheduled to be completed in the next few years include: entry complex, El Paso Water Utilities Education Center, reptile exhibit building, desert exhibit building and major African exhibits.
