Join us for an evening of 1922-style entertainment, featuring silent short films (including some Egyptian-theme novelty films), vaudeville acts, live up-close magic tricks, dancing to premiere vintage orchestra Dean Mora’s Modern Rhythmists, Make Your Own Hollywood Screen Test, 1920s libations, a buffet fit for King Tut, a speakeasy gambling den and more exotic entertainment than you can fathom! Come as your favorite Hollywood icon of the 1920s, an Egyptian fresh off the set of THE TEN COMMANDMENTS or an early 20th century explorer of Egypt!
"Gypped in Egypt" (1930, Pathe, 9 min). Waffles the Cat and Don Dog must face the dancing skeletons inside an Egyptian tomb in this charming animated short film!
"Magic Mummy" (1933, Library Films, 7 min). Police officers Tom and Jerry (not the famous cat and mouse duo) are in hot pursuit of a mummy thief.
"Mud and sand" (Lobster, 29 min). Stan Laurel stars as matador Rhubarb Vaselino, who must go head-to-horns with the deadliest bull in Spain.
"We Want Our Mummy" (1939, Columbia, 18 min). The Three Stooges travel to Egypt in search of the King Rootin-Tootin mummy for a $5000 museum prize.
"Cops," (1922, Douris Corp., 18 min). Through a series of misunderstandings, Buster Keaton winds up with a man’s wallet, a family’s furniture, an anarchist’s bomb and an army of cops chasing after him.
