Harvard Book Store is pleased to announce that on Thursday, April 15th Edward Conlon will discuss his long-awaited memoir, Blue Blood. When The New Yorker published the first ?Cop?s Diary? column in 1993, written under a pseudonym for an active NYPD officer, it created an instant stir for its literary style, the fascinating insider?s view from the ranks of the city?s police force, and the mystery of who this writer really was. Edward Conlon wrote the pieces, four in all, under a pseudonym in order to continue to work undisturbed on the job. Now, in Blue Blood, Conlon broadens his canvas and offers a full-scale account of what it means to protect, to serve, and to defend among the ranks of New York?s finest.

Encompassing Conlon?s vivid tales of street arrests and undercover work; of a family lineage that includes a father who was an NYPD officer briefly before joining the FBI and a great-grandfather who was a cop on the take during the Tammany era; and an anecdotal history of the NYPD and the great city it serves and protects, Blue Blood is certain to be one of the most talked-about books of the year.
