It's time to eat cake! Come celebrate the Edmonton International Film Festival's 20th anniversary as for nine days and nights, movie fans and filmmakers from across Canada and around the globe gather to eat, sleep and breathe all things cinematic! With an emphasis on "discovery", EIFF presents a fascinating mix of feature-length films, documentaries and short films gathered from all corners of the world. Our goal is to nurture a better understanding of other nations through the art of cinema, to expose the people of greater Edmonton to movies and stories they might not ever have the opportunity to see again, and to inspire the motion picture industry in Alberta.
Aside from a program of terrific movies, EIFF also presents a series of Insider Talks with guest filmmakers, a 24-hour filmmaking challenge we call "24/One", "Lunchbox Shorts" - - a series of noon-hour short films (that include lunch) for the downtown business crowd at Edmonton City Centre - -and parties every night.
