Erica will fill us in on her perspectives on the following topic regarding Solar Equity:
* Why Low-Income Families and Renewable Power
* The Solar PV marketplace what is needed to include low-income folks including:
- Local policies
- State policies
- Federal policies
* What GRID Alternatives does to bridge the gap in the marketplace
Erica Mackie, P.E., Executive Director and Co-Founder
Erica has a professional background both in social work and in renewable energy and energy efficiency consulting and sales, and has overseen the installation of solar electric systems and energy efficiency retrofits ranging in construction cost from $10,000 to $1.7 million. She holds two bachelor's degrees from Southern Illinois University, one in Mechanical Engineering and the other in Physics.
EcoTuesday is a networking event for sustainable business. Every event features a 20 minute keynote by an industry thought-leader, followed by the hallmark "Introduction Circle" where all participants have an opportunity to share about their about passion and find like-minded collaborators. Events take place nationwide on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
