EAT SKULL (USA)
We had a late cancellation for this Saturday night and so did EAT SKULL so it’s a perfect Saturday night for both of us…and you!! Yes, you!! Make no mistake, EAT SKULL make some of the most inventive sounds in America right now.

Hailing from the West Coast, this radioactive noise pop band set their sights firmly on good times. Signed to pioneering US indie label Siltbreeze (Psychedelic Horseshit, Tyvek, Times New Viking), the four piece have over the course of two albums (Sick To Death in 2008 and Wild and Inside from last year) churned out consistently ragged Nuggets twisted through with evil intent. They’ve found huge fans in contemporaries No Age, Male Bonding and Times New Viking, while reaching out to audiences craving something a little more gritty and celebratory than pervasive careerist indie rock.

“Eat Skull mashes together almost everything that's great about trashy art-punk, weirdo fuzz-garage, skuzzy punk-pop, Kiwi garage-rock and off-kilter bedroom-strum. ...once your ears adjust, you realize that it's all killer, no filler." -- Pitchfork (8.3 rating)

“a set of crafted songs recall the paisley punk of The Last and the rural-delica of Great Plains, as well as nodding to the sanguine pop of early Flying Nun bands such as The Double Happys. Wild and Inside is a grower for the ages. It breathes deep and exhales perfectly.” -  Siltbreeze

CHIPS FOR THE POOR
Intricate south London alterno-pop. One of the first British bands to be confirmed to play SXSW 2011 in Austin, TX.
''The vibe is lo-fi electronic punk that nods to Suicide, The Fall and The Talking Heads but carries a humour more present in modern new wavers such as simian mobile disco. This is a seven inch that will turn a few heads' - Rough Trade
'It's a banger' - Huw Stephens, Radio 1
