The largest robot competition in Canada comes to Ontario Science Centre. More than 150 teams from across Canada and the United States are expected to participate. From children to pros, visitors can watch or even compete in several categories of robotic competitions where home-built robots will battle, race or even create their own art. To pre-register or find out more, visit www.robotgames.ca. Cost is $25 for each entrant and $80 for a team of four. Visitors on November 15 and 16 can watch any of these competitions and join lectures on the field of robotics for free with their admission to the Science Centre.

Categories this year include:
Sumo -- the most popular competition where robots push, throw, flip or dance their opponent out of the ring.
Firefighter -- simulating real-world applications, this event features robots that locate a "burning oil derrick" (lit candle) then extinguish it in the shortest possible time.
Photovore -- robots seek out bright lights and then defend their position against challengers.
Solaroller -- pure speed is the criteria with these solar-powered racing robots.
Walker Triathlon -- a grueling triathlon that features an obstacle course, a straight distance race and a more challenging navigational path race.
Art & Innovation -- art and technology merge in fascinating ways for this robot art contest.

Further your robotic experiences by witnessing one of the most dramatic examples of robotic applications in the IMAX SPACE STATION film, where the Canadarm is used to help construct the International Space Station. The Technology and Space halls also house exhibits that highlight the use of robots.
