East West Eats: Bay Area's Best Pacific Fusion Chefs June 1, 2006

Slanted Door executive chef Charles Phan will showcase some of the Bay Area's best chefs at the "East West Eats" fundraiser Thursday, June 1, 7 to 9 p.m., at the Ferry Building for the local chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association. Joining Chef Phan will be Butterfly's Rob Lam, Three Seasons' Hung Le, Silverdado's Pater Pahk, Cafe Kati's Kirk Weber, Slanted Door's Mutsumi Takehara, Straits Cafe's Chris Yeo and others. Chef Santos Loo of the Food Network will give cooking demonstrations. KPIX CBS 5 news anchor Sydnie Kohara will emcee the event, which is sponsored by Comcast, PG&E and Wells Fargo. Proceeds from the event will fund college journalism scholarships. Tickets are $100 or $85 for AAJA members. Pre-event VIP reception tickets are $250. Deadline to register is Thursday, May 25.
