Earth Rise Benefit Concert September 25, 2009

Please join us for this unique evening of music, poetry and drama to benefit Earth Rise at the New York Society for Ethical Culture. Featuring HOUSE OF WATERS with Max ZT on hammered dulcimer; Luke Notary on percussion; Moto Fukushima on bass; and special guests Brandon Terzic on oud and Akie Bermiss on keyboards. Earth Rise is a weekly gathering for those with a strong connection to nature and the environment. Earth Rise uses music and art, discussion, contemplation and environmental action, to teach us new ways to deepen our connection to the environment, walk more gently on the Earth, and bring out the best in ourselves and in others. Earth Rise participants also engage in a variety of environmental action projects. As part of the New York Society for Ethical Culture, Earth Rise is humanist and nontheistic in tradition. We find our strength in our relationships with others and our place in community. We celebrate the unique qualities of each individual, knowing that life flourishes through diversity, and that the wider our circle of friends, the greater our opportunity for self-discovery.
