Earth Hour 2009 Candlelight Dinner March 28, 2009

What will you be doing this year for 'earth hour'? How about spending the evening with others who also want to honour the planet--and enjoying delicious vegetarian food while listening to the wonderful music of English singer-songwriter Max Cann--all by candlelight?

Max Cann, who has opened for Loudon Wainwright, Billy Bragg, Maria Muldaur and others, is one of the best singer-songwriters in the southwest U.K., and is on his second Canadian tour. In addition to drawing from his extensive repertoire of original compositions, he will be taking your requests.

The menu for our flavourful dinner, made entirely of plant-based foods (which of course are easier on the earth), will be:
* mushroom pate and crackers
* crudites
* maple-roasted root vegetables
* spicy tofu cutlets
* black bean salad with avocado, oranges and roasted red peppers
* curried mixed grain salad
* green bean/carrot/tomato salad
* fresh fruit
* assortment of cookies and squares for dessert

The event will last from 7:00 - 10:00 ('earth hour' is from 8:30-9:30), with appetizers at 7:00 and dinner at 7:30
