Marine Science Institute hosts "Earth Day on the Bay!" April 19, 2008.

Redwood City, California - Marine Science Institute, with our title sponsors Redwood City Saltworks and Cargill, have created a great day honoring Planet Earth on Saturday, April 19, 2008 from 8 am - 5 pm. This all day event is filled with family-friendly events geared towards providing fun, memorable, and meaningful experiences to bond you with SF Bay, and the planet.

The Marine Science Institute throws open our doors to the public only once a year, so we have packed in a terrific variety of watery ways to have fun and learn about our treasured San Francisco Bay. If you like music, mud and sea creatures, you are bound to have a great time!

The event will offer a variety of activities and programs: admission is free!

* Live entertainment with the Banana Slug String Band and EarthCapades Environmental Vaudeville
* 4 two-hour trips on to SF Bay aboard the MSI ship, Robert G. Brownlee. Register on-line today! (payment required)
* Programs with tide pool animals, sharks, fish, plankton and of course mud!
* Fish and shark feeding!
* Explore Hawaiian ocean culture through outrigger canoe & dancing!
* Environmental Information Fair
* Special presentations by the SF Ocean Film Festival and Al Gore's Climate Project!
