Physics is Nature's design for the universe. The University of Toronto's Department of Physics in conjunction with the Design Exchange present informal noon hour talks about a diverse array of current topics.

To understand the changes occurring in our atmosphere, we need to have measurements we can trust. This talk will describe how atmospheric scientists go to the ends of the Earth and high above it to make these important observations using instruments located near the North Pole, hanging from 25-storey tall balloons and mounted on satellites orbiting the Earth.

About the Speaker:

Professor Walker is Deputy Mission Scientist for Canada's Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment satellite and an assistant professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Toronto.
