Durkin's Derby Day Party Featuring The Tricycle Triple Crown Race May 5, 2012

The Annual Tricycle Triple Crown Races are Back for the 82nd Annual Durkin’s Derby Day Party!

WHAT:
Watch the 138th Kentucky Derby at Durkin’s Tavern. For 82 years, Durkin’s has hosted the most entertaining Kentucky Derby Party in Chicago complete with the best derby attire and hats around. Guests can enjoy the races while sipping on specialty mint juleps and participating in contests to win prizes such as gift cards, cash and bottles of liquor.

•Tricycle Triple Crown Races: Horses aren’t required for these tricycle races around the block! Registration begins at 2 p.m. and races start at 3 p.m.
•Best Derby Attire & Hat Contests: Dress to impress and win prizes in contests for the best derby attire and the best derby hat. Winners will be announced after the Kentucky Derby finishes.
• Kentucky Buffet: Southern comfort classics such as fried chicken, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and biscuits will be served. Domestic drafts, well drinks, traditional mint juleps and a special blackberry mint julep concoction are also included with the meal package.
• Derby Day Drink Specials: All day drink specials include $5 mint juleps, $5 El Jimador Margaritas, $5 Mojitos, $4 Coronas and $4 El Jimador shots.

WHEN:
2 p.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday, May 5. Tricycle Triple Crown registration begins at 2 p.m. and races start at 3 p.m.

COST:
