Duo “2” (Peter H. Bloom, flutes & Mary Jane Rupert, harp) with violist Frank Grimes in Live Arts Series February 6, 2011

Flutist Peter H. Bloom & harpist Mary Jane Rupert, who tour the globe as the duo “2”, will be joined by violist Frank Grimes in a vivid program featuring Debussy’s Sonata for Flute, Viola and Harp and the New England premiere of Butterfly Effects by Elizabeth Vercoe. Butterfly Effects was written for “2” and received its world premiere during their 2009 tour of Thailand. The piece showcases the concert harp with the entire flute family (flute, alto flute, bass flute & piccolo for one player). Other selections: Sonatine en Trio by Ravel, Fantaisie Opus 124 by Saint-Saëns and Five Miniatures by Jean Françaix.
