In his new persona as Duniven, frontman Patrick Thomas moves away from the Britpop-influenced churn of his previous band, the Capshuns, and into the familiar, roomy space defined by the likes of Dylan and Petty. Duniven’s new batch of girl-obsessed songs, informed by some post-Capshuns health problems and a good bit of soul-searching, will emerge on the album “Take My Hand” later this year. Recorded with Manny Nieto and Shane Smith in Nieto’s Estudio, it features contributions from Jason Borger and Chris Vargas.
