Duncan Hannah: the Golden Age July 17, 2010

This is an exhibition of new paintings and drawings by Duncan Hannah. Hannah, a well known contemporary American artist, is a Minnesota native who has spent most of his career in New York. Hannah's upcoming exhibition will feature the subjects he has made nearly iconic throughout his career: ships and boats, race cars and champion horses, old world architecture, pastoral landscapes as well as cinematic portraits of men, women and children. Although Hannah portrays seemingly unrelated subject matter, there is an unspoken narrative throughout his exhibition that hinges on the quiet theatricality of his painterly style, inspired by British realism of the early twentieth century.
