This June, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra launches a new annual festival at the Max M. Fisher Music Center designed to challenge traditional ideas about classical music and the role of symphony orchestras today. Titled 8 Days in June, the inaugural festival takes place June 21 to 28, and will present classical, jazz and chamber music, as well as drama, spoken word, film, lectures, visual art and more, all created around a central concept rooted in contemporary world issues.
