DRY ICE January 24, 2009

The Museum of Contemporary Art celebrates a strong season of visual and performance art with a special January event, 'DRY ICE.' The evening begins with a unique cocktail reception in the MCA's loading dock to provide a behind-the-scenes perspective of the museum. Continuous cuisine by Wolfgang Puck Catering is passed throughout the entire evening. A special auction presents five works of art by artists featured in MCA exhibitions; Jeff Koons, Jenny Holzer, and Olafur Eliasson. Two silkscreen Monkey Train paintings by Koons will be auctioned along with a hanging prism mobile by Eliasson and engraved marble footstools by Holzer. The evening concludes with an exclusive solo performance by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright. The benefit proceeds directly support future MCA programming.
