Feb 19th, 2010: we have the date, venue and presentation on the most clouded topic for many and need of the time too: Drupal IN Cloud

Cloud Hosting,it allows you to launch any number of servers but you are still on your own to take advantage of them. Like, selection of OS,MySQL, Apache, PHP and Drupal.

We have options like Amazon SimpleDB, Google App Engine and Sun Caroline. Just like Amazon EC2/S3 they all provide instant scalability, only they moved things up the stack a level. They provide a managed application environment on top of a managed hosting environment, but whats recommended for your Drupal site is still the question. Hopefully, Drupal will find a clean path and be more scalable after finding the quicker and simpler path in these Clouds.

We will also have 10 minute Drupal site demos from the brains behind the projects:

DEMO 1: A recent launch with a very simplistic but efficient implementation and use of opencalais module which is supported and maintained by Thomson Reuters

Opencalais is a complete publisher suite for the Drupal platform with high level features of semantic metatagging and linked data connection, easy to enhance value of content, improved user experience and extended syn-dication to next-generation search engines, directories, social media applications

DEMO 2: Work focussed Networking platform with multiple business utility tools, interesting 3rd party integrations and a great compilation and offering of features and solution for SMB, Entrpreneur and whitelabeling options.

A 10 minute session as a refresher on:

Best Practices, Do`s and Dont`s from Drupal Project Management perspective - I

Venue: UCSC Extension in Silicon Valley, 2505 Augustine Drive, Santa Clara, CA 95054

Please recommend or share references of interesting Drupal application ready to be demonstrated or join to share your experience on Drupal development path.

Hope to meet everyone after long,we are sure it will be a knowledge filled 2 hour event with presentations, project demos and an opportunity to catch up for a beer & snacks in the clouds of Drupal

Cheers!
