Drums Along the Sandias, New Mexico's premier marching music event, is an exciting spectacle of sight and sound. Each summer, a variety of competitive drum and bugle corps from throughout North America stop in New Mexico on their national tour in preparation for the August DCI World Championships.

This year’s event will feature four of the nation’s elite drum and bugle corps as they take to the field for an exciting evening of affordable family fun and an Albuquerque-area tradition.

The precision, passion and power that is marching music’s major league will feature California’s Santa Clara Vanguard, Phantom Regiment of Rockford, IL; Tempe, AZ’s Academy and the Blue Knights of Denver, CO. Each corps of 150 talented young brass, percussion and color guard members perform individually stylized shows to the strains of popular, classical, jazz and perhaps even some rock and roll music.

The evening’s entertainment will also include the 17-piece Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra, the Adrena-Line Percussion Ensemble and the Ambush Brass Ensemble.

Drums Along the Sandias is hosted by Ascend Performing Arts with support from Twisters, Baum’s Music, KRST Radio, the Los Lunas High School Band and 99.5 Magic Radio.
