African Youth Outreach, Inc. is sponsoring the third annual “Drumming for Hope” to support HIV/AIDS education.

WADOMA, Figureheads, take the stage for the third annual benefit concert for African Youth Outreach, Inc. (AYO) is a local not-for-profit that provides empowerment through education to those affected by AIDS.

AYO, established in 2004, is a collaboration between medical personnel and educators. AYO works in South Africa providing orphans with life skills education needed to survive, including HIV and sexually transmitted infection prevention, drug and alcohol abuse, and critical problem solving. AYO is also in the process of developing a domestic education program with hopes of running summer camps in Dane County next summer (2009).

AYO’s goal is to provide educational services to the increasing number of children orphaned by the accelerating HIV epidemic, and to increase awareness and educational opportunities of these issues in the United States. AYO is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, and all proceeds of fundraisers go directly to the orphan projects supported by AYO.
