Strategy Performance Management - New Role for Strategic Planning Professionals

For the last four years, Gaye has participated in a dramatic transformation in the Cisco Systems business model. Moving away from 'Command and Control' to an approach beyond traditional cross-functional 'matrix' management, Cisco is building a highly decentralized, collaborative-based, global, cross-functional management system built on a wide range of Web 2.0 technologies. No longer is a small group of less than a dozen executives setting, prioritizing and periodically correcting the firm's strategic direction with the CEO, John Chambers. Today's strategy development and management process includes well over 500 executives spread far and wide across the globe. Gaye will share with us some of the impacts that these changes at the corporate level are having in a P & L driven division and the role of strategic planning professionals at Cisco.

Who is this for:
- Managers/leaders interested in new trends in managing the strategic planning process in a large, complex business
- Strategic planners interested in the future direction of their role

What you will learn and take away
- Insight into the successes, challenges and 'war stories' of an internal Facilitator in helping keep a division on track strategically, while the organization is involved in rapid change and trying to ensure alignment with broader the corporate direction.
- Transformational impacts of Web 2.0 technologies on strategy development and execution
- Preliminary results of TS experiments with "Strategy Performance Management" concepts and tools
