Drawing in the Galleries: Fashion and Fabric April 16, 2009

Instructor Patrick Earl Hammie, class size limited, registration required. Call (860) 838-4049 for information. This five-session class focuses on drawing clothing, drapery, and fabric. Using the permanent collections and two special exhibitions, The Ballets Russes: Celebrating the Centennial, and Foreign Accents: The Ballets Russes and Western Couture, this class offers technical instruction to achieve weight, texture, and volume as observed in painting, sculpture, and costume. The class is open to all levels of ability and a list of required dry drawing materials will be sent to participants. Mr. Hammie teaches Life Drawing at the University of Connecticut in Storrs and Two-Dimensional Design at Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic.
