Dr. John is undoubtedly one of the finest exports New Orleans has ever produced, and the influences of his native town are evidenced in his passionate and charismatic performances, both on the stage and in the studio. In what started as a career as a session musician for such greats as Van Morrison and Aretha Franklin, Dr. John quickly came into his own colourful spotlight with a 1968 solo album. He?s been unstoppable ever since. His style has been described as creole, funk, soul, rhythm & blues, voodoo, and even psychedelic rock. This incredible range has earned him four Grammy awards, as well as a slew of international accolades.
