Dr Lonnie Smith's Yuga Adi Trio January 2, 2011

Hear Dr. Lonnie Smith's new band. "Yuga adi" ("beginning of a new age") is a traditional Hindi expression referring to the New Year, and it's a fitting name for this unique Indian-influenced trio combining Hammond B-3 with sitar, tabla and frame drum. Sitarist Neel Murgai has worked with a wide range of artists such as Wyclef Jean and Cyndi Lauper, and drummer/tabla player Sameer Gupta is a key force in Marc Cary's Focus Trio.
