Double Solitaire: the Surreal Worlds of Kay Sage and Yves Tanguy August 10, 2011

'Double Solitaire' is the first exhibition ever to juxtapose works by these two Surrealist painters, Sage and Tanguy, who were married to each other for fifteen years... and to examine in depth the ways in which their lives and art were interwoven. It will include approximately 25 paintings by each artist, dating from 1937 to 1958 -- some of which have never before been exhibited -- as well as selected photographs and ephemera, which will provide a window into their personal lives.
