Organizations fail to anticipate the future. They often lose sight of the important message in the ‘noise’ and believing what they want to believe. This presentation will offer some ‘Do’s and Don’ts’ of forecasting and an understanding that changes in the sampling data must be anticipated, recognized and quickly reconciled.

Salvatore A. Ganino BSIE, CFPIM, CSCP, CQA, CQE, CQMgr . JONAH
A Graduate of Northeastern University, he has over 40 years of manufacturing experience in manufacturing, having held the position of Industrial Engineer, Chief Industrial Engineer, Production Superintendent, Materials Manager, Plant Engineer, Plant Manager, Operations Manager and Director of Manufacturing.
An active member of APICS since 1989, he has held many positions along the way and continues to serve today. As President of the Albany chapter, he also served as Regional Vice President for Region II. He completed JONAH training at the Goldratt Institute and holds CFPIM and CSCP certifications.
A member of ASQ since 1991, he served on two separate occasions as Section Chair for the Hudson-Mohawk Section and continues working as a staff member. He holds CQA, CQE and CQM certifications
As an Adjunct Instructor, he taught Production and Operations Management and Managing for Quality at the College of Saint Rose, Production and Operation Management at the State University of New York (SUNY) Albany. He is an APICS Qualified Instructor Certificate for the CPIM Body of Knowledge and continues teaching the BOK.
His presentations include ‘Value Stream Mapping’ at the 55th NEQC Conference in 2004, Quality Tools at a Joint meeting of APICS and ASQ in Northern New Jersey and several times at local and area APICS and ASQ meetings.
After serving six years as Senior Management Analyst for the Center for Economic Growth; Consulting in ISO 9000 and LEAN Manufacturing, Sal opened his own consulting business; Manufacturing ETC.
