Donations Needed for August Angels.

We understand just how important it is for each child to feel special and prepared as they enter a new school year. A new school year is filled with wonder, anticipation and excitement! But sending a child off to school is an expensive proposition. When you factor in the school supplies needed, shoes to replace last years' worn-out pair, and a new outfit for the ever-growing child, parents could spend as much as $200 per child, turning back-to-school time into a financial hardship for many.

During August, The Koinonia Foundation is preparing for back-to-school time and needs your help to ensure every child starts the new school year with everything they need. Through the August Angels program we provide needy children in the local area with new items needed to start the school year. Please participate in our program by donating school supplies and children's clothing. Koinonia Foundation is located at 6037 Franconia Road, Alexandria, VA 22310. Our hours of operation are Mon, Tues, Wed, and Fri 9 am - noon, and Thurs 10 am - 6 pm. We're at the corner of Beulah and Franconia, behind the Franconia United Methodist Church and next to the Franconia Elementary School, convenient to the Fairfax Connector routes 231, 232, and 310.
