The Piazza
London, England WC2

Free Opera on a big screen in Covent Garden Piazza. Bring your friends, get bored, bimble off to the pub for a swift half, come back at the end for all the killings.

From the website: "Seating:Due to council restrictions portable furniture is not permitted in Covent Garden Piazza.

Access:For special seating requirements there will be limited seating available - for information and to apply please contact the ROH Box Office on 020 7304 4000.

Council restrictions All litter should be disposed of in the bins provided or taken home. Please dress appropriately for the anticipated weather conditions. Children must be accompanied by adults.

If you don’t want to bring a picnic - don't worry, Just Falafs - the original good mood food - and Petit Chez Gerard - will both be offering 'opera specials' for each of the Big Screen nights.

And if you get in early, you can enjoy dining at Tuttons and have views over the Big Screen. Their normal summer a la carte menu applies. You cannot reserve a table with a view - so arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Alternatively, Chez Gerard is offering a Live Opera menu at £55 for 4 courses. Book early for their terrace seats on Tel: 0207 379 0666"

There are other events going on across London for other shows in the same fashion (and accross the country).
