Domingosiete began in 1999 in Los Angeles as an illegitimate musical experience that has been astounding audiences in Europe and the US. Their sound is as bold and gritty as the streets of their home town. It is worldly, subtle and sophisticated. This “exemplary ensemble creates an original musical experience that draws upon the myriad roots of Latin-Carribean music. From fiery hot to lovely and languid. This is Urban Son.
DomingoSiete takes a unique approach in building its own brand of music, from Gabriel Tenorio’s electrified Quinto Sonero, to the electronica thump of Quique Roman’s road tested v-drum/timbale kit and the nimble fingers of David Goodwin on the Baby Bass. Their ability to cross from genre to genre seamlessly gives serious credit to their musicianship.
The band has now completed 7 major tours of Europe and is gaining airplay all over the U.S. and Europe. Most recently, D7 completed an original music score for the Academy Award nominee for best documentary, The Garden. The Garden, by Scott Hamilton Kennedy, follows the engrossing drama of the fight to save the South Central Farm, once the largest community garden in the US. Currently DomingoSiete is working on its third independent release on BasicLabs; a limited release of “The Garden and other Stories,” is expected shortly.
