“Bravo....Bonita is uncanny as Billie Holiday” reported the Los Angeles Times. Her long list of over sixty theatrical credits ultimately garnered her two NAACP Theater Awards, one for "Best Actress" in the critically acclaimed production of "Long Time Since Yesterday" and, for "Best Ensemble" in the multi-award winning show, "North on South Central," singled out as "critics choice" for her portrayal of the legendary Billie Holiday. Bonita made her Broadway debut, starring with Charles S. Dutton in "Unrefined," and is a lifetime member of the Actors Studio, having worked and studied with Martin Landau, Mark Rydell, Al Pacino and Ellen Burnstyn to name a few. She says her most rewarding work to date is creating “Bonita & Billie.”
