Ritter’s Frozen Custard in Anderson is hosting the season premiere of Dogs Night Out on Monday, April 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. to benefit Countryside Animal Rescue. The event is premiere of the popular summer series scheduled for the second Monday of each month April through September. Ritter’s is located at Scatterfield Road and Charles Street.

The evening features a free small dish of vanilla frozen custard for each dog attending with the purchase of any human custard treat. Ritter’s will donate proceeds from the event to the local pet welfare group.

“The event is designed to be a fun night out for your dog”, said Gary Eberhart, owner of the Anderson Ritter’s. “We want pet owners to know that Dogs Rule and People Drool at Ritter’s and there are only two rules…dogs must have their owners on a leash at all times and dogs are not allowed to share their free custard treat with their owners.”

Ritter’s Frozen Custard has outdoor picnic-style seating area with tables and benches for the event and organizers say that if it should be “raining cats and dogs” on Monday, then the cats should stay home.

The new season will also be a feature of the Rally to Rescue program in cooperation with Purina Pro Plan products. Representatives from Countryside Animal Rescue will be on hand with dogs available for adoption and to discuss their foster home programs, volunteer opportunities, upcoming spay and neutering events and pet education. A complete listing of pets for adoption also is available on the internet at www.countrysideanimalrescue.org through the services of PetFinder.com.

Future dates in the Dogs Night Out series are the second Monday of each month, May 14, June 11, July 9, August 13 and September 10.
