DogFest April 17, 2010

Top Chef veterans Ryan Scott and Preeti Mistry, along with official Lemony Snicket representative, Daniel Handler, are among the many local celebrities on the docket to appear at McKinley Elementary DogFest. The fun takes place April 17, 2010 from 11am to 4pm in Duboce Park.

DogFest is a celebration of dogs and kids benefitting SFUSD McKinley Elementary School, a K-5 public school at Castro and 14th Streets. The festival offers something for San Franciscans from all walks of life. Enter your dog in contests for best trick, best costume, best look-alike duo, best bark, most ear-resistible, and other categories. Or treat your human child to a day of jumpy houses, face painting, carnival games, tasty treats, and more. All proceeds benefit much needed educational enrichment programs for McKinley children.

DogFest 2010 also features a live auction at 12:30pm, and a free performance by The Busy Bee Dogs at 2:30pm. Make a bid on a fabulous prize and stick around for some silly dog comedy and amazing tricks. Everyone is invited to watch or join in the canine contests, make a bid on an auction prize, and buy a ticket for the grand prize raffle. Children’s activities, including carnival games and face painting, take place during the entire festival, from 11am-4pm.
