INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Find your way to a little East Village bar called Von just off the Bowery. At the door you will be greeted by the doorman or a pitbull pup named Happy. Either way give him a pet on the head before you work your way through the crowd.

I’d stop for a drink as you make your way around the bar. A glass of Bordeaux, a snifter of Cognac, the finest Brooklyn Lager on tap—drink to your mood and drink to the evening. Take a moment, but know that you have places to be, because if you follow the bar around to the right and into the backroom, there’s a door and a staircase downstairs.

Down in the basement of Von, there’s music, there’s good company, and there’s a drink waiting for you. Take in the scenery at the bar, sit back and lounge by candlelight, or beckon eyes while you shake it up on the floor. It doesn’t matter: you’re here, so you are with us.

Word is just getting out now. Tell your friends, your best friends.
