DJ Superstar Trevor Nelson Live in Leicester
Presenter and influential music industry figure Trevor Nelson is set to appear in Leicester for an exclusive DJ set. The one-off gig will take place at Chilli White, Belvoir St, on Saturday 16 June 2012, with an effervescent blend of commercial R&B and slow jams.
The club night will feature Trevor Nelson, DJ R3WIRE and Varski (Ministry of Sound) in the main room. The VIP / Red Room will be hosted by Soul Express featuring DJ’s Trevor Nelson, Black Vinyl Magic, JETC & Hitman, playing nineties R&B and New Jack Swing.
Trevor Nelson started his career as a DJ and then Director for Kiss FM. In 1996, he moved onto present Rhythm Nation on BBC Radio 1 - the first UK-wide, R&B focused show. He now has popular slots on BBC1 Xtra and BBC Radio 2, as well as having a strong TV career thanks to appearances on MTV UK, MTV Base and BBC. Nelson has twice won a MOBO Award as Best DJ and has been awarded an MBE. He has put his name to a variety of successful compilation albums and, among other high profile happenings, has presented MTV Europe Music Awards and the MOBOS.
