Divine Performing Arts is coming to San Diego's Civic Theatre December 26-28, 2008. Divine Performing Arts is a collaboration of leading artists, and the world's premier Chinese dance and music company out of New York. Its productions are unmatched in their color, movement and depth. Divine Performing Arts seeks to breathe new life into traditional Chinese culture to provide an experience of sublime beauty and inspiration.
The people of China once saw their culture as divinely bestowed. The name of Divine Performing Arts reflects that belief. Divine Performing Arts is consciously independent of China's regime, under which the traditional arts have suffered for decades. Inspired by the rich spirit of true Chinese culture, Divine Performing Arts brings to life ancient heroic legends and modern courageous tales, brilliantly choreographed, colorful and exhilarating!
During the last five years Divine Performing Arts shows have graced the world's most prestigious theatres, including Radio City Music Hall in New York, Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, and Le Palais des Congres in Paris. In New York, Billboard rated it as the top 7th show in February 2006.
Dramatic high-tech set design, colorful costumes, amazing choreography and a life orchestra combining both eastern and western instruments, bring to life the legends that have shaped China’s 5000-year history. Divine Performing Arts delivers an unforgettable experience.
Presented in both Chinese and English, Divine Performing Arts has enchanted more than 500,000 live audiences in 66 major cities around the world, with over 200 performances during the 2008 season.
This coming Divine Performing Arts 2009 World Tour will bring joys and wonders to even more audiences worldwide!
