Over the last decade we have discovered more than 300 planets orbiting other stars. Recently the Hubble Space Telescope and the Gemini and Keck Observatories have taken pictures of planets orbiting around stars other than our sun. What are these worlds like? Could life exist on these worlds? The Allen Telescope Array being built in northern California is designed to search for communications from intelligent life in our galaxy. What is the likelihood that we will find Earth-like planets with intelligent life, or get to listen to the radio broadcasts of E.T.?
