Opening July 18th, the Mainstage Center for
the Arts performs Mulan Jr., Disney's cross-cultural retelling of a
popular Chinese folk tale about a peasant girl who disguises herself
as a man and takes her ailing father's place in the emperor's army but
turns the traditional fairy tale ending on its head. This time, the
princess rescues the prince.
Travel back to the legendary, story-telling days of ancient China
with this action-packed stage adaptation of Disney's Mulan. The Huns
have invaded, and it is up to the misfit Mulan (Samantha Sorin of
Cherry Hill) and her mischievous sidekick Mushu, (Alanna Virgilio of
Runnemede) to save the Emperor! (John Madden of Pennsauken) Mulan JR.
is a heartwarming celebration of culture, honor and a fighting spirit.
The score includes favorites like "Reflection," "Honor to Us All" and
"I'll Make a Man Out of You" as well as new songs that will get your
audience up on its feet!
Disney's Mulan, Jr., presented by Mainstage Center for the Arts,
opens Wednesday evening, July 18th, at 7:30 pm and Thursday and Friday
mornings, July 19 and 20th, , at 10:30 am, in the comfortable
surrounding s of the Dennis Flyer Theatre, Lincoln Hall, Camden County
College, located at 200 College Drive, Blackwood, New Jersey. Tickets
