UNM Continuing Education invites you to experience “The Wonder of Iceland” lecture and image show on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 9:30-11:30am. For decades over-looked by travelers to Europe, Iceland holds great allure for those interested in tourist friendly, natural resource rich diversion which is away from the throngs visiting the mainland. The overview will present some of the essence of the historical roots of the inhabitants, the major natural attractions, the geothermal resources, and some insights into everyday life of Icelanders. Images will trace the rough Ring Road around the island and capture other key sights in the countryside and major cities (e.g. Thingvellir National Park, Dowtown Reykjavik, and others). Tuition is $20. The class will be held in the UNM Continuing Education north building at 1634 University Blvd NE. For more information visit dce.unm.edu/story-of-new-mexico.htm or call Joan Cok at 277-0563.
