This short course will provide family and local historians with a basic grounding in how to approach early modern handwriting.
Secretary handwriting, commonly found in early parish registers and wills of the period 1550-1650 can be tricky to read. The first of these two sessions will introduce you to styles and language, with highlights to online links allowing you to follow up the session at home. The second session will take a question and answer format, following up specific questions relating to your online work.
