Discover Dance! South Asian Arts/Sticks n' Skins November 29, 2012

South Asian Arts joins forces with Uzume Taiko and Sambata as Sticks n’ Skins, to present an explosive performance of bhangra and percussive music for The Dance Centre’s popular Discover Dance! noon hour series. Originally a folk dance celebrating the harvest, bhangra has now surged in popularity worldwide, both in its traditional form and as a fusion with hip-hop and other genres. The Sticks n’ Skins collaboration brings this high-energy, joyful dance style together with the percussive sounds of Japan, Brazil and Cuba, all played live.
