Sunday, August 20, 2006, 12 noon – 5:00 p.m.

The Fifth Annual Discover Cedar Fairmount Festival and Art Show will be Sunday, August 20 on Cedar Road and Fairmount Blvd. in the Cedar Fairmount Business District. It is being sponsored by the Cedar Fairmount Special Improvement District, Friends of Cedar Fairmount, and generous businesses and professionals.

The goal of the August 20 festival is to encourage a sense of community, and to showcase the history of the district, its businesses, restaurants, and ideas for public art and beautification of the Cedar Fairmount neighborhood.

Free Events, Art & Craft Show, and Entertainment is planned for the entire family. Entertainment and activities includes the Get Back Duo, Panic, A Caribbean Steel Drums Band, Bluegrass Music with Up With Grabs, clowns: Rita the Whipples and Jocco, Pony Rides, Euclid Beach Rocket Car rides, free chair massages and much more.

Artwork will include local artists with jewelry, enamel, pastels, acrylics, oils, fiber, stained glass, pottery, photography, ceramics and more. Adults and children may choose henna or face painting. Local restaurants will be featuring food samples and /or menu specials during the Cedar Fairmount festival.

There will be much for animal lovers: The Cuyahoga County APL will be on hand with animals to adopt. The Greyhound Society will be showcasing their dogs and Fifth Third Bank is sponsoring its second annual Pretty Pet Parade.

Registration is at 1:30 pm at the bank. Contest is at 2:00 p.m.

This year’s added attraction will be memorabilia from the Cleveland Police Museum including on of the oldest armor cars, old police uniforms, and items from their Cop Shop.

For the Fourth year, Edward Jones Investments is sponsoring a Kid-Care Identification program from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m. at Starbucks. Howard Hanna Smythe Cramer Realty will offer finger painting.
