This is the first ever National Armed Forces Day to honour service men and women past, present and future.It is an opportunity for the whole Nation to honour and to celebrate the work they do in support of our country.
The RBLS Dingwall wishes to show its appreciation by organising an Armed Forces Day Parade at 11.00am on Saturday 27th june 2009, followed by an Open Day with fun for all the family.
All wishing to march on the Parade should muster at 10.30 a.m. in front of the RBLS Club Premises. The Parade will be led by the RBLS Juvenile Novice Pipe Band & the Strathpeffer Pipe Band followed by our own Strandard Bearers; Colours from other RBLS Branches within the Ross & Cromarty Area; representation from the Seaforth Association; the Normandy Veterans; the Fire Service; the Northern Constabulary; the Army Cadets; the ATC; the Explorer Scout Unit for Dingwall & the Black Isle and the 1st Dingwall Guides Unit.
Also on Parade will be Sgt. Lynda Sutherland representing Her Majesty's Armed Forces; Lord Lieutenant Janet Bowen; Charles Kennedy MP; John F. Munro MSP; Dave Thompson MSP and Local Councillors.
Parade Commander Ali Lamont will march the Parade down to the War Memorial, in front of the National Hotel, where Rev. Russel Smith will lead a short service before the Parade returns to the RBLS Club premises. A short Flag Raising Ceremony will then take place before the Parade is dismissed. All present will then retire to the Ross Hall, where Lord Lieutenant Janet Bowen will present Veteran Badges.
Our Open Day will include Entertainment in the Ross Hall & Music Outside; Pipe Bands; Charity Stalls; Bottle Stall; Raffles; BBQ and other Fun Events.
A great day for all the family; the town of Dingwall and the surrounding Communities. We finish the day listening and dancing to the Playboys 9.00 p.m. - late.

The week begins with a Flag Raising Ceremony at Council Buildings Dingwall on Monday 22nd June 2009 at 10.30am. Lord Lieutenant Janet Bowen will be accompanied by Rev Russel Smith; Mr Bob Cameron Highland Council; Lord Lieutenant's Cadet and Mr Duncan MacKenzie President Seaforth Association.
