The symposium will bring together interdisciplinary scholars, artists, and media industry representatives to reflect on the nature of knowledge in the digital age. How do the tools of new media transform the questions we ask, how do they enable new questions, and how do they foreclose other questions?

Panels will address topics such as Intelligence Amplification and Creativity, Data Diffraction in Networked Systems, the Digital Humanities and Social Sciences, Linguistics and Large Corpora, and Reading in the Digital Age. The presentations will highlight the conceptual issues at stake while emphasizing examples of innovative work in multiple disciplines.

Keynote speaker: Bernard Stiegler (Institut de recherche et d'innovation entine Pompidou, Paris)
