Karen Kocher of the University of Texas at Austin will teach a two-week Digital Documentary Workshop June 2-13, from 15:00 to 18:00 each day, at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
Material: In this short course students propose, produce and edit short videos documenting the City of Lisbon. The unifying theme for these short documentaries will be "hidden Lisbon." In the process of the workshop participants will explore how film language, namely visuals, audio and editing, can be employed to achieve a desired affect.
Instructor: Karen Kocher is an independent media and multimedia producer of award-winning documentaries including Austin Past and Present, a comprehensive multimedia history of Austin, Texas. She teaches non-linear editing and documentary video production at the University of Texas at Austin. In Summer, 2007, she taught a week-long Interactive Documentary Workshop in Porto.
